The 18th edition of Beautyworld Middle East, due to be held in Dubai on 30 May 2013, is set to increase in size by 27%, with exhibitor numbers up 25% on last year.
The growing figures are supported by a surge in demand for personal care products in the UAE. According to Euromonitor International, the UAE’s per capita spend on personal care is predicted to reach an estimated AED1,282.3 in 2017 – 13% more than the estimated figure of AED1,131.7 in 2012.
Beauty and personal care sales are also expected to increase by 5.8% by 2017, driven by strong economic growth in Saudi and an increase in disposable income levels. The male grooming sector is singled out as a category to watch as the number of products and advertisements focusing on men’s lines is expected to soar.
