Apply a mild shampoo over the bristles; it will clean away the grease on the brush hairs. Do not rub the shaft of brushes; do it gently. Put the wet brushes on soft towel and let them be air-dried. Do not use heat or warm air to dry the brushes; it will damage its bristles. For lipstick brushes, use an oil removing solution. Use different brushes for light and dark makeup. Change brushes at least once a year. Throw away worn out brushes. Avoid sharing of make up brushes as it may cause infections.
