Edelmann: Construction, graphics and CAD under one roof

The Technical Design Center consistently takes care of customer requirements from the initial idea, through its further development up to additional services such as evaluations of the economic efficiency, refining variations or the determination of the optimum sheet usage. In the area “construction“ the Edelmann team for example develops concepts for unusual packaging forms and user-friendly functionality. An idea archive with more than 2,500 designs serves as the basis for rapid construction development.

The team from the “graphics“ area creates solutions for the implementation of brand and product designs in print and refinements. The team is thereby able to draw on a substantial portfolio of technologies and material competences. Thereby completely new print effects are repeatedly brought to production maturity. For example, designs are created with which box textures are authentically recreated using print technology, or where soft touch effects create an exceptional haptic.

Also the proactive development of innovations is a feature of the Technical Design Center. Here the company is developing new visual and haptic effects for their packaging production. Thus, construction and print concepts are made available to customers, amongst others the "CEvolution“ packaging with curved and round shapes, or “CEholo“ with individual holographic designs. The company has registered a total of 25 national and international patents, registered designs and utility patents.

Packaging developments quickly move through the stages of precommercial development in the newly set up Technical Design Center in the Heidenheim company headquarters. The close exchange within the worldwide production network of the company subsequently ensures the implementation for an international market appearance, reports the company. Edelmann is represented on three continents with a total of twelve production locations in six countries.
