Quadpack, the independent packaging group, has acquired the Spanish wood manufacturing specialist Technotraf.
The acquisition provides Quadpack with the chance to develop the wood packaging aspect of the business, which already provides wood packaging solutions to companies including Issey Miyake, Burberry and Guerlain.
Tim Eaves, CEO of Quadpack Group, said: “Technotraf was the first company in the beauty market to introduce wood and their first project was the Burberry Touch perfume. Originally they produced furniture and household amenities but realised they had to become more specialised and started pushing into the beauty market.
"What we have now is a product that has great environmental credentials – it all comes from renewable sources in Europe and it is PEFC certified wood. No other packaging material is totally renewable. We have a product that has a very luxurious, natural feel to it – this is what we are excited about. It is innovative, sustainable but also luxurious and natural.”
