Regional brands make a play for French C&T market

A range of plant based cosmetic products under the Fore brand name is to be launched in the Vosges region of France at the start of the tourist season. It marks a further stage in the development of regional brands by small enterprises. The Vosges line of gels, creams, moisturizers created from a range of regional plants has been created by the Saint-Ambroise company based at Steinbourg in the Lower Rhine.

A parallel project is underway at La Rochelle with a range of moisturizing creams being launched by Emmanuelle Taulet. The Cosmed association, made up of over 600 of these small companies in France, said the local and regional cosmetics sector was based on regional characteristics - terroir - as much as the idea of luxury and over the past ten years around 100 brands of regional cosmetic brands had been created.
