The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has launched a newly revised 10th Edition of its International Transport of Aerosols Guide.
Dr Paul Jackson, BAMA’s Technical Director, commented: “Aerosols are classified as dangerous goods for transport and the regulations require that any shipments must be fully declared and adequately packaged. This guide provides a valuable route map through the complex legislation, covering UK and international transport with a particular focus on helping companies take advantage of being able to transport aerosols in limited quantities.”
The guide, which is free to BAMA members, covers how to consign aerosols for transport in limited quantities in each of the transport modes and includes advice on the classification, packaging, testing, marking, labelling, documentation and staff training needed, as well as the new rules for allowing aerosols to be sent by post in the UK.
