French beauty and healthcare packaging company Ileos has reached agreement to acquire Le Papillon, a leader in contract sample production for fragrance and cosmetics in US.
Le Papillon specialises in the supply and manufacture of samples and promotional gift sets. Established in 1975 by Watson Warriner, it employs 120 staff and has two production sites in New Jersey. In 2012 the company posted a turnover of $49m.
Ileos employs 4,000 people in 14 locations in Europe, the US, Brazil and China and recorded a turnover of €350m in 2012.
Pierre Hémar, president of Ileos, said: “We are delighted to bring Le Papillon into the Ileos family. It offers us the opportunity to further develop our know-how in fragrance unidose filling, gift and promotional items and to better serve our customers in the United States, which is a core geography for us.”
Hémar confirmed that Watson Warriner will continue to “provide his vision and leadership to the company”.
