The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has announced the results of the BAMA Awards 2012, which saw prizes awarded for Economic Sustainability, Environmental Benefits and Social Responsibility.
The awards, presented by television and radio comedian Tony Hawks at BAMA’s Annual Forum in Manchester, saw nine entries shortlisted and judged by a panel including Jane Bickerstaff, director of INCPEN, John Noble, director of British Brands Group, and Jo Jacobius, managing director of Axiom Communications.
Colep scooped the award in the Economic Sustainability category, for its innovative aerosol application with the launch of New Turbo Tango, while Cascade Technologies won the Environmental Benefits category award for its Aerosol Leak Detection System. Finally, Swallowfield and Reabrook were announced joint winners in the Social Responsibility category. Swallowfield impressed judges with its lipstick launched under the brand name Trust, which was the first Prince’s Trust product to donate 100% of the retail price to the charity, while Reabrook was recognised for its tree planting progamme in The National Forest.
Dr John Morris, chief executive of BAMA, said: “The BAMA Awards aim to highlight and recognise the continuous improvement, innovation and economic viability within the UK aerosol industry. The aerosol sector continues to show not just resilience but firm growth when the financial climate and consumer spending make for tough trading.”
