Fragrance company Seven Scent has announced its forecast for key trends influencing next year’s autumn-winter fragrance collections. Based on research into fashion, design and fine fragrance, the company’s bi-annual Fine Fragrance Report predicts which notes will play a key role in the second semester of 2013.
Tea accords, which traditionally involve green tea accords, will become richer and more sophisticated, while wood accords like oud will be softened with rose, a classic blend in Middle Eastern perfumery. The Middle East will also inspire through the use of spices like cardamom, cumin and saffron, and in masculine scents, the use of leathers and suede will grow in popularity
Seven Scent also predicts that versatile amber will continue to prove popular and that dark, rich red berry notes will deliver an autumnal feel.
“This season always encourages more intense, heavier, long lasting fragrances to evoke a feeling of warmth and comfort during the colder months,” said Bruce Furlonger, head of marketing and innovation at Seven Scent. “These traditional notes will still be in evidence but we have identified a number of creative fragrance accords which are growing in popularity with consumers and look set to influence direction.”
