Dita Von Teese Make-up presented as world premiere by ARTDEC

Artdeco, a leading German brand for color cosmetics, acquired the license for Dita Von Teese’s first make-up line. CEO Helmut Baurecht was proud to announce the news with Dita herself to the international press via press conference in Munich.

Dita Von Teese launched her first eponymous fragrance with Luxess in October 2011, which received the prestigious German Duftstar Award. Consequently, expectations are flying high for her make-up line. Dita shared her experience with this collaboration, saying, “ I had all liberties to drive the creative process, to influence the development of the textures and colors to make them my signature products. For me it’s important to give more than just my name to a product.” She also wanted to offer products at an affordable price to be able to give something back to her fans.

The cooperation agreement was signed on April 28, 2011 in Paris. Anna Blasco-Salvat, marketing director of Artdeco remarked “We have never worked so long or so hard on a product launch. We compared ourselves to benchmarks and ultimately surpassed them by delivering better solutions.” When asked about his decision to work with Dita Von Teese, CEO Helmut Baurecht responded, “We couldn’t identify any other woman who is so closely linked with the perfect make-up. She is a true icon.”

Growing up as a shy, blonde girl in Michigan Dita Von Teese always dreamed to be like her idols, Marlene Dietrich and Rita Hayworth. To this day, Dita travels without a professional team of stylists. “I am a make-up artist and am used to doing everything by myself – thus I stay independent and have the chance to create a look exactly the way I want.”
