DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company LLC has announced that it has partnered with Bio-Botanica Inc to create a new line of botanical extracts called ZeaBasics.

The new line, manufactured by Bio-Botanica Inc, features the proprietary ingredient Zemea propanediol – a 100% bio-based ingredient made from corn sugar through fermentation and developed for use in the cosmetics and personal care market. Zemea provides a high performance, environmentally sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin and is also approved as a natural ingredient by Ecocert, Natrue and the Natural Products Association.

With regard to its effects, ZeaBasics provides natural botanical benefits while reducing the feeling of tackiness and greasiness, while increasing the perception of easy absorption and smoothness.
