Ecocert-approved Emulsifer and Deo Active

At In-Cosmetics in Barcelona, Dr. Straetmans will introduce a natural deodorant active and a w/o emulsifier. Dermosoft Decalact Deo (INCI: Not Provided) has been shown to provide perspiration protection for 24 h. The active was also shown to have the same in vitro activity as triclosan and ethylhexylglycerin; however, it was shown to provide a longer-lasting protection compared to ethylhexylglycerin. The company compared the active with ethylhexylglycerin on 20 individuals after one application and daily application for a week. The results were evaluated by an expert panel under controlled conditions, and the results found that the active provided 24 h of protection, whereas ethylhexylglycerin only provided six hours of protection. The active has an excellent toxicological profile and is suitable for any modern deodorant product forms. In addition, it is approved by Ecocert.

The company is also launching Dermofeel GO Soft (INCI: Not Provided), a natural, food-approved emulsifier for without formulations. The emulsifier allows formulators to avoid the heavy or greasy feel often associated with w/o formulations, to create w/o formulations with a soft and pleasant feel. The emulsifier is versatile and creates formulations that are easily applied to the skin. The emulsifier can be included at low use levels to save money for the manufacturer. It is Ecocert approved, and it can create unique texture.
