Count von Faber-Castell honored with Federal Cross of Merit

Anton Wolfgang Count von Faber-Castell was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by the Bavarian Minister President Horst Seehofer. The award was presented at a ceremonial act which took place in Munich at the Bavarian state chancellery on September 15, 2010.

The statement reads as follows: "Count von Faber-Castell is an exceptionally dedicated entrepreneur, who has always invested a great deal of time and effort for the common good, despite his huge commitment to his own company. He manages the highly regarded family enterprise in the eighth generation, which has been the epitome for German brand quality in the area of writing, painting, drawing and creative design for a very long time. The company is the oldest and largest producer of wood-cased colour and graphite pencils worldwide. Despite being internationally focused, it not only distinguishes itself through its strong roots in Middle Franconia, but also by virtue of its extensive quality and environmental measures and a high degree of socio-ethical responsibility..."
