Avon Mineral Makeup is a less expensive alternative if you are looking to save money on your mineral makeup.
Avon describes their foundation as full-coverage foundation that is 100% pure, with no preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other chemicals.
The line was introduced in 2007 and has undergone several transformations - the largest being in the selection of available colors. I felt like Avon had really missed the boat on colors when it was first introduced.
I always wear the color that "80% of all women" can wear and there wasnt a color that I could use - all too dark or too light. However, Avon has long corrected that and now offers their foundation in 11 colors plus a translucent (to be used alone or as a finishing powder) and a bronzer. Sand Beige is a perfect color match for me - I wear the "medium" shade in everything.

All Skin TonesAvons Mineral Foundation seems to be either a "love it" or "hate it", based on the reviews. It is interesting to me that there is not an SPF rating attached to it - all mineral makeup has an inherent SPF because of the zinc and titanium dioxide. I am also puzzled by the long list of ingredients, which is a turn off to some and doesnt matter to others. It does include ingredients that can be beneficial to the skin including Retinyl (which is a synthetic, dry version of vitamin A), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C) and Kaolin (clay).
Theoretically these ingredients should be beneficial to the skin and may also absorb excess oil.
In addition to Mineral Foundation, Avon also has Mineral Blush, Eye Shadows and Concealer.
