double-ended makeup pencil designed for products used at dif

Themake-up pencil manufacturer Alkos Cosmetiques has launched a double-ended pencil which does not have to be divided into two exact halves.

According to Alkos, the pencil was designed to house products that are not used at the same rate.

For the eyes, the pencil could contain a solid eye shadow at one end and an eye liner at the other; the proportion of the pencil shaft taken up by each product is customisable so if the company thinks the eye liner will be used up first this can take up two thirds of the shaft and the shadow one third.

For the eyebrows,Alkos suggests coupling an illuminator with a tinted wax, again in the proportions specified by the customer.

The Single-Twin product can also combine pencils of different diameters, the company explained.

Pendants to reinforce the brand

Also showcased at the LuxePack trade show were pencils customised with small charms that Alkos claims can help a company strengthen its brands.

The charms can be easily removed from the end of the pencil and reattached to a bag, keyring or mobile phone, so even after the product is finished the accessory remains.

Available on pencils of two diameters - 7.8mm and 10.6mm - the pendants can help dress up the product for limited editions such as Christmas products, or Mother’s Day gifts, as well as reinforce brand identity.
