According to Market Research Company NPD sales of perfumes and cosmetics in the selective resp. prestige sector in France were up in 2010. Sales in specialised shops (perfumeries) like Marionnaud, Nocibé, and Sephora and department stores like Galeries Lafayette grew by nearly 3% in 2010.
In 2008 the prestige market in France stagnated and in 2009 reported decreasing sales (-1%). According to NPD volume of sold cosmetic products and perfumes reached 2.84 billion in 2010 – the total prestige beauty market accounts for € 5.679 billion.
